.**Job Summary**- The Manufacturing Engineering Manager directs and leads the manufacturing engineering team at SDM, is responsible for the process engineering team, the producibility/development team and the manufacturing design team, the development of each engineering branch and the strategic planning for their successful implementation in a high mix low volume CNC machine driven environment. In addition, this position is responsible for developing & implementing the engineering KPI's, definition, and analysis of continuous improvement projects. This role will also provide technical support to troubleshoot and solve problems affecting on-loan, raw material yields, material flow, capacity, quality, environmental compliance and safety.**Primary Responsibilities**- Develop engineering strategy, manage, schedule and coordinate Manufacturing Engineering activities including but not limited to:- Lead the engineering industrialization team developing the drafting and programming department providing technical guidance and on hands support.- Lead the processing engineering team developing the standard work strategy, improving manufacturing process capabilities providing technical guidance and on hands support.- Develop the process to successfully send, monitor and analyze operating data from the manufacturing process and CNC machining process, using statistical tools, both proactively (statistical quality/process control) and reactively (troubleshooting).- Improve productivity/throughput/safety by utilizing Industrial Engineering techniques (SWS, Standard Work, % load, ergonomic evaluations, delay studies, predetermined time, simulation, and line balancing).- Lead the development of key industrial engineering systems such as: routing or workflow definitions, cost analysis, standard work definition, performance tracking, line balancing and process documentation.- Support shop operations by providing solutions and alternatives for manufacturing with hands on activities and training of manufacturing personnel. Optimize existing processes and implement new techniques and technologies.- Analyze work force utilization, facility layout, material flow and operational data such as production costs, process flow charts, and production schedules, to determine efficient utilization of workers and equipment.- Define and generate required documentation in support of manufacturing products and processes, including engineering protocols, reports, manufacturing instructions, manufacturing drawings, procedures, work instructions and training documents.- Process engineering includes tooling design, job tracking, fabrication and new process implementation- Maintain process documentation, including process flow diagrams, operating instructions, DCN forms, etc
