The team looks to their manager for organizational transparency, process improvements, career development, mentorship, and honest feedback.**Responsibilities**:- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of incident response engineers. Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and excellence. Help develop their careers and assign them to projects tailored to their skill levels, personalities, work styles, and professional goals- Oversee the identification, investigation, and resolution of incidents. Ensure timely and effective response to incidents to minimize impact on services.- Develop and implement processes and tools to improve incident detection, response, and resolution. Continuously evaluate and enhance incident response procedures.- Work closely with other engineering teams, security teams, and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination during incidents.- Provide training and development opportunities for team members to enhance their skills and knowledge in incident response and related areas.- Maintain and report on key metrics related to incident response performance. Provide regular updates to senior management on the status of incidents and response efforts.- Manage the on-call rotation for the incident response team. Ensure that the team is adequately staffed and prepared to respond to incidents at all times.- Provide continuous feedback, address underperformance, and recognize the individual strengths and contributions of your team members- Create plans for prioritizing technical and resourcing challenges in your organization**Experience**:- Significant past experience in incident response including tools, technologies and frameworks.- Proven experience in leading and managing security teams. Ability to inspire and motivate team members.- Strong technical background with experience in threat hunting, security alert handling/management, security operations, and/or related fields.- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to quickly assess situations and make informed decisions under pressure.- Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.- Experience in developing and implementing processes and procedures to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.- Knowledge of security best practices and frameworks
