The Engineering Senior Manager is a senior management level position responsible for accomplishing results through the management of a team or department in an effort to drive a variety of engineering activities including the design, acquisition and deployment of hardware, software and network infrastructure in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to lead efforts to ensure quality standards are being met within existing and planned framework.Responsibilities:Manage at least one product line from design to implementation and ongoing performance according to business needManage all technology standards across functional area, ensuring development, understanding and adherence around the globeSet goals within functional area that are delivered to appropriate Operations & Technology organizationsContribute to the IT Project Leadership function to harmonize with overall business / technology objectives and ensure teams within the functional area are adequately staffed and possess the required skills sets to carry out their rolesProvide an environment where Subject Matter Experts can work efficiently and delivery effectivelyManage execution of IT strategy and roadmap for assigned technology areaApply an in-depth understanding of concepts and procedures within engineering and basic knowledge of those elements in other areasResponsible for training and coaching team members, performance management activities, monitoring quantity and quality of work, and addressing development needs for assigned personnelAssist with budget oversight, policy formulation and planning and ensure that development requests are in line with business requirementsMake evaluative judgments based on information analysis in complicated or unique situations; utilizing multiple sources of informationNegotiate with senior leaders (across functions) and communicate and negotiate with external partiesAppropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.Qualifications:6-10 years of relevant experience in an Engineering role with commensurate people management experienceExperience working in Financial Services or a large complex and/or global environmentProject Management experienceConsistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communicationComprehensive knowledge of design metrics, analytics tools, benchmarking activities and related reporting to identify best practicesDemonstrated analytic/diagnostic skillsAbility to work in a matrix environment and partner with virtual teamsAbility to work independently, prioritize, and take ownership of various parts of a project or initiativeAbility to work under pressure and manage to tight deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirementsProven track record of operational process change and improvementEducation:Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experienceMaster's degree preferredJob Family Group: TechnologyJob Family: Systems & EngineeringTime Type: Full timeCiti is an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer.
