You will be building and working with a team of highly motivated individuals that work on various automotive technologies to enhance driver experience, prevent accidents, and save lives. In this role, you will lead a team to design, develop, and validate new products and technology such that capability, cost, and quality satisfy the customer requirements. You will identify the key skills required for each of the roles and level needed within your team. You will ensure that the skill gaps are immediately addressed through formal and on-the-job training, internal transfers, or external hiring.Responsibilities:Seek and hire best in class, motivated, and engaged employees that display behavioral traits aligned with company and competency values and goals.Establish an onboarding process that is structured, consistent, and adjustable to the skillset and experience of the new hire.Manage people performance and provide coaching / mentoring guidance as needed.Ensure development opportunities are defined and available for all team members.Participate in talent review sessions.Acknowledge team success; reward and promote teammembers based on contributions.Provide input to staffing planning to support new contracts and organizational adjustments.Manage the engineering team to ensure that proper planning and execution plans are in place to meet program requirements; drive solutions.Stay connected with team members to maintain deep understanding and progress of work.Remove impediments that are blocking team performance.Drive excellence by fostering the culture of pursuing perfection.Drive quality into the standard way of working.Drive team compliance to the standard way of working.Plan, monitor, and control capabilities of the team.Actively participate in the customer communication for engineering, when required.Manage the team budget and capital planning.Must Haves (Basic Qualifications):Bachelor's degree in engineering discipline (computer science, software, systems, or related field of study).5+ years professional experience in Automotive Industry or Consumer Electronics.3+ years management experience.Bi-lingual – proficient in English speaking/reading/writing.Interpersonal skills, strong analytical skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and a positive approach to challenge.Cross functional interests, ambitious and self-driven. Adaptive, comfortable with ambiguity.Ability to effectively manage several projects at once.Strong soft skills: skilled networking creation, influencing skills, constantly learning, positive and ownership profile.Nice to Haves (Preferred Qualifications):Master's degree in engineering discipline (computer science, software, systems, or related field of study)
