Engineering Technician 4
**Education**: Associates degree (or equivalent) in a relevant computer science and/or engineering technology discipline.
**Experience**:
- 5+ years experience working on electronic products in a hands-on test and troubleshooting role using oscilloscopes, DMMs, device readers/programming adapters, etc
- Experience working in an ESD controlled environment
- Experience working in an environment requiring traceable calibrated equipment and the ability to manage calibration schedule and services to maintain calibration on all equipment used.
**Knowledge**:
- 5+ years experience working on a server or data storage-based products in a hands-on test and troubleshooting role using oscilloscopes, DMMs, device readers/programming adapters, etc
- Working knowledge of server and storage products
- Basic Linux OS and scripting experience
- Knowledge of network cabling, routing, and setup
- Experience working in a production electronics factory
**Skills**:
- Ability to read schematics, BOMs, ability to view and understand PCB layout with Cadence (Allegro) PCB design tool, ability to understand component data sheets, troubleshooting device-level failures.
- Understanding of common manufacturing processes to include Functional Test, In-Circuit Test, Flying Probe and common assembly techniques.
- Working experience with Failure Analysis and 8D processes and objectives.
- Proficiency with Windows and common Office products used to communicate findings. Proficient in English speaking, reading and writing.**Responsibilities**:
- Troubleshoot and root-cause analysis for VES products
- Working with Manufacturing, Engineering and Quality teams on corrective actions where needed.
- Work with VES Quality for customer FA / 8D reporting.
- General Test and Repair for RMA products
- Manage VES test area to ensure needed equipment is in place, calibrated and in good working condition.
- Provide training to factory debug staff for level 1 and 2 debug and problem analysis.
