The Product Engineer-B creates 3D models and bill of materials (BOMS) for projects under mínimal supervision of senior and/or lead project engineers. A successful Product Engineer-B creates accurate 3D models, BOMS and provides production support as required for the project. The Product Engineer-B must help assess and find solutions to problems that impact production and quality. Product Engineer-B will participate and may lead design reviews with customers, engineering team members and other internal stakeholders.RESPONSIBILITIESCreate 3D models of mechanical components and assemblies from both 2D and 3D dataDesign 3D sheet metal parts and welded structural steel framesDesign 3D piping/conduit from 2D layoutCreate part, assembly and assembly drawings from 3D filesProficiency in working with Autodesk Inventor or equivalent CAD systemProficiency in working with Agile EC Cad Vault or equivalent Vault systemProficiency in working with Oracle PLM system or equivalent PLM System.Create and maintain bill of materials (BOMS) with a high degree of accuracyComplete work assignments within determined time frameDemonstrate creative ability, accuracy, and cost effectivenessProvide engineering support to manufacturing during production and testingWork under the direction of supervisor, lead project engineer(s) and/or managerWork independently with mínimal supervisionManage multiple ongoing projects and switch tasks when situations ariseParticipate in group discussions and Web Meetings regarding projectsPerform other related duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or other engineering disciplinesTwo to Four (2-4) years of experience in product engineering or mechanical designSelf-starter with the ability to solve problems, take responsibility and deliver results with a spirit of innovation and strong commitment to excellenceFluency in English and Spanish required (read, write and speak)Proficiency in MS Office Software - such as PowerPoint, Excel and WordExperience in modeling tools such as Autodesk Inventor, PTC Creo, SolidWorks or othersExperience using Cad Vault systems such Agile EC, Autodesk Vault or othersExperience using PLM systems such Oracle or othersAbility to read, interpret and produce technical drawingsAbility to communicate effectively with all levels of the organizationBasic knowledge of Six SigmaBasic knowledge of KPIs conceptStrong communication, presentation and interpersonal skillsDemonstrating ethics and integrityBasic understanding of sheet metal design, manufacturing practices and processesExhibit basic sense of design and mechanical aptitude with abstract thinking and reasoning skillsStrong analysis, problem solving and decision making skillsTeam-oriented attitudeAction-oriented with an eye for finding opportunity and solving problems, detail-oriented with high attention to detail and proven ability to complete tasks on schedule
