This role monitors reforms of state environmental taxes. The Environmental and Sustainability Program Manager drives sustainability initiatives to reduce these indicators by deploying and improving existing processes and thinking big to develop scalable solutions to drive environmental compliance, process standardization, and performance management. This role will work with a team of Multi Site Environmental Managers to define and deliver against the program rollout implementation plan and strategy. This role will drive shared goals with Mx Sustainability to improve on Energy and Water KPIs; and with Finance and Tax teams to provide the reporting needed for Environmental Tax Compliance.Key job responsibilitiesManage and oversee local, state, and federal environmental regulations as well as Amazon policies.Prioritize and manage multiple technically complex assignments concurrently.Represent Amazon at appropriate levels with government agencies and throughout the company.Train, guide, and motivate internal teams so they understand how their daily work affects regulatory compliance, the environment, and the communities in which Amazon operates, and conduct themselves as responsible environmental stewards.Lead on-site the proper waste management techniques, facilitate regulatory inspections, mitigate environmental risks, and ensure records are maintained in accordance with federal, state, and local environmental standards.Collect and compile data on wastewater discharge, solid waste generation, and air emissions for each company site.Analyze the data to identify trends and ensure compliance with environmental regulations and, with this data, elaborate Environmental tax reports.Continuously monitor changes and reforms to state-level environmental tax policies and regulations.Develop strategies and implementation plans to ensure the organization remains compliant with evolving environmental tax requirements.Communicate updates and implications of environmental tax reforms to relevant stakeholders within the organization.Ensure timely and accurate payment of all applicable environmental taxes, fees, and levies.Maintain detailed records and documentation to support the organization's environmental tax compliance efforts.Conduct internal audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement in environmental tax compliance
