With unlimited career opportunities, Amazon invests in ensuring our teams are always challenged, constantly learning from each other, and creatively contributing to our next big idea.The Sr Environmental Coordinator (EC) will be responsible for:Supporting environmental compliance at the South Region, focusing on Mérida, Villahermosa, Veracruz, and Cancún sites.Assisting in the implementation and enforcement of standards and policies to support environmental and regulatory compliance.Providing guidance for operations, maintenance, and construction teams.Completing environmental inspections and performance analysis.Monitoring metrics and assisting teams in the implementation of Amazon environmental standards.Working with internal and external partners including government entities, contractors, consultants, design, construction, operations, and other key stakeholders.This is a hands-on position that includes time spent in the yard and on the floor of a busy fulfillment center conducting inspections and audits; taking samples; providing guidance to other employees; ensuring proper waste classification; and dealing with multiple departments and all levels of employees throughout the operation.Key job responsibilities:Assisting with compliance of local, state, and federal environmental regulations and Amazon policy.Driving an environmentally responsible culture within the organization.Supporting thorough and accurate environmental audits for continuous improvement.Leading, coordinating, and supervising the activities of waste coordinators and shared waste coordinators at the sites.Prioritizing and managing multiple assignments concurrently.Representing Amazon at appropriate levels with governmental agencies during inspections.Working collaboratively with other Environmental Assurance and Protection (EAP) Team in Mx, contractors, and consultants to ensure compliance and conformance with the Amazon Environmental System.Driving the completion of environmental incident investigations.Assisting with managing and handling regulated waste programs.Tracking air emissions and other Key Operational metrics related to environmental performance.Inspecting construction projects to assure sediment and erosion controls are maintained.Assisting with spill clean-ups and emergency response
