Environmental Health & Safety Officer

ElringKlinger is looking for an Environmental, Health and Safety Officer to join our newest location in San Antonio, TX.Main Duties and Responsibilities:- Consulting for managers and plant management on all questions concerning the safety-related design of workplaces, work processes and the use of work equipment as well as hazardous substances- Designing and planning of safety training based on the risk assessments and safety instructions as well as support of the managers in their implementation- Supporting managers in the preparation of risk assessments- Responsible for the implementation and maintaining of a system to perform and monitor of legal required health & safety trainings- Safety assessments of all plant equipment, (new) machines and systems within production area- Responsible for monitoring legal compliance with health and safety legislation throughout the plant by planning and carrying out site inspections including documentation- Analysising of health and safety incidents including the necessary reporting to plant management and managers, as well as definition and monitoring of corrective actions and the lessons learned process- Interface between plant and authorities to comply with legal requirements regarding health & safetyMinimum Requirements:- Bachelor's degree in industrial hygiene, safety studies, environmental sciences, engineering or related experience or 2 or more years EHS experience in a manufacturing or like environment.- 3+ years safety and environmental experience in a manufacturing environment- Proficient in Microsoft (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook)- OSHA 30 certification required- DOT/RCRA preferredHere at ElringKlinger, we value our flat hierarchies, open culture of communication, and our attractive prospects for career advancement.
