Check out our job openings at VERTEX CAREERS and follow us on LinkedIn.**Responsibilities**:**Environmental Scientist** - This is an immediate hire, full-time position.**Environmental Scientists (ES) visit client sites and conducts Phase I sampling and collection activities (soil and water) and assist clients with the acquisition of regulatory permits that pertain to HAZMAT waste, Environmental impact, wastewater discharge, and other operations permits from civic agencies. The ES will analyze results of the samples (from the lab) and write detailed client facing reports.Clients include large manufacturing companies in the NLE area.This is an amazing opportunity to join growing environmental company and accelerate your career.Core responsibilities:- Conduct Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and field investigation activities- Identify and obtain required environmental permits for clients (hazardous waste registration, environmental impact assessments, annual operating certificates, etc.)- Assist with environmental compliance assessments and audits- Write client reports and submit for senior review (in English and Spanish)- Represent VERTEX to the client in a professional manner- Schedule and coordinate subcontractor activities for project- Make employee safety a priority, in accordance with corporate policyPosition Requirements- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or related field- Minimum of 1 year of working experience in environmental sampling, and health and safety permitting/compliance assessment.- Ability to travel to client sites, sometimes with little notice and for extended periods of time. (valid driver's license - reliable vehicle required)- Experience with STPS, PROTECCION CIVIL, and SEMARNAT regulations
