BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for "dynamic, results driven" individual to join as Environmental Specialist at our SLP PDS Plant in Mexico.
In this role, and under direct supervision of the Supervisor EHS.
Will be responsible for leading and maintaining the ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 50001:2018 management systems in operation, including the processes applicable to compliance with energy and environmental controls, through the identification, evaluation and monitoring of improvement actions, managing the identification of environmental aspects and impacts, including those related to energy, in addition to monitoring compliance with legal requirements and other requirements.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Maintain and improve the Environmental Management System based on the ISO 14001:2015 standard.
- Implement the Energy Management System based on the ISO 50001:2018 standard.
- Ensure compliance with the comprehensive EHS&S policy and the objectives of the management system.
- Coordinate internal and external audits of management systems.
- Monitoring of the annual training plan on environmental and energy matters.
- Comply with and supervise the controls established to prevent: accidents, work incidents and impacts on the environment.
- Keep compliance with applicable legal requirements regarding Energy and Environment up to date.
- Management and execution of procedures, studies and analyzes required for legal compliance in a timely manner in matters of water, soil, air, noise, emergencies, waste, risk and environmental impact and energy.
- Prepare and present the Annual Operation Certificate.
- Obtain and renew the operating license annually.
- Management and administration of the hazardous and non-hazardous waste warehouse.
- Attend external audits, corporate, government institutions and/or clients regarding the management system.
- Monitoring of EHS&S plans and programs.
- Support on issues related to asset security.
- Monitoring of EHS&S preventive and corrective actions.
- Provide advice on investigations of work accidents/incidents and follow-up on corrective actions.
- Monitoring and improvement of the environmental emergency plan (training, brigade formation, leak/spill drills, review of emergency teams).
- Serve as an instructor on energy and environmental issues.
- Stop processes in case of deviations
- Actively participate in the Annual Final Inventory.

EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Education: Industrial, Chemical, Environmental Engineering or similar
- Time of experience in a similar position: 3 years
- Technical knowledge required: ISO 14001 and ISO 50001, Internal auditor in ISO 14001 and ISO 50001
- Experience in automotive industry processes
- Legal requirements regarding energy and environmental compliance: LGEEPA, LGPGIR, NOM's, SEMARNAT, etc.
- Legal procedures at Federal, State and Municipal Government Institutions
- Investigation and prevention of accidents
- EHS&S risk management
- Other requirements: Microsoft Office, Internal Instructor.
