The Equipment Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and reliability of all manufacturing equipment and machinery within the facility. This role involves developing and managing preventive and corrective maintenance programs, leading a team of maintenance professionals, and driving initiatives to reduce downtime and improve equipment performance. The Equipment Maintenance Manager will work closely with production, engineering, and other departments to ensure equipment is operating at optimal efficiency, supporting the company's operational and production goals.
**What You'll Do**
**Maintenance Management and Planning**:
- Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of all manufacturing equipment, including CNC machines, robotics, conveyors, and other critical machinery.
- Schedule and prioritize maintenance tasks, ensuring mínimal impact on production operations.
**Team Leadership and Development**:
- Lead and manage a team of maintenance technicians, shift leads, planners, and support staff.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and professional development opportunities to enhance team skills and performance.
- Set clear performance objectives, conduct regular evaluations, and foster a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
**Process and Equipment Optimization**:
- Analyze equipment performance data to identify trends, root causes of failures, and opportunities for improvement.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance, reduce maintenance costs, and extend equipment lifespan.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to modify equipment and processes to improve reliability and efficiency.
**Compliance and Safety**:
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of equipment and maintenance practices, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Promote a safety-first culture, ensuring all team members adhere to safety protocols and procedures.
**Budget and Resource Management**:
- Develop and manage the maintenance budget, including labor, parts, and external service contracts.
- Evaluate and manage relationships with suppliers and contractors, ensuring quality service and cost-effectiveness.
- Monitor maintenance costs against budget, identifying opportunities for cost savings without compromising safety or quality.
**Project Management**:
- Lead maintenance-related projects, including equipment overhauls, installations, and upgrades.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Manage the commissioning of new equipment, ensuring proper setup, testing, and integration with existing systems.
**Emergency Response and Troubleshooting**:
- Lead the response to equipment failures and breakdowns, ensuring rapid troubleshooting and repair to minimize downtime.
- Develop emergency response plans and ensure staff is trained to handle equipment-related emergencies effectively.
**Documentation and Reporting**:
- Maintain detailed records of equipment maintenance activities, repairs, and performance metrics.
- Prepare and present reports on equipment performance, maintenance KPIs, and project status to senior management.
