FLSMIDTH CEMENT IS LOOKING FOR AN EXPEDITOR TO JOIN ITS TEAM IN MONTERREY, MEXICOThis position resides in the Regional Procurement Organization and is responsible for providing expediting support for the business supported from the US and Mexican offices.
It is expected that this position would be one of a team of expeditors who support the regional procurement activities within a cross-functional team.Specific responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:Provides expediting support for purchased components and equipment including FLSmidth Cement proprietary designsRoutinely contacts suppliers to follow up on products ordered and obtains progress and status information to ensure that all deliveries will be available to ship to their destinations in full, on time, and with the requested quality.Obtains required vendor documents and pack list information from suppliers in advance shipmentInforms internal stakeholders of any pending delivery delaysFollow up on past due to open purchase orders to expedite shipment and identify sources of delay in these orders to define trends.Maintains general oversight of expediting status information in the Procurement System.Any other duties as assigned.Qualifications:Previous expediting experience preferred with 2 to 4 years of experience.Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or Business preferred.
Equivalent experience acceptable.Candidate shall have excellent vendor communication skills, both written and verbal.
(in English)Knowledge of Cement producing equipment is preferred.Individual should possess a sense of urgency, be proactive, customer-driven, and motivated.
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, strong time management skills.Must be able to be assertive with a strong commitment to meeting corporate deadlines and receiving critical orders on time.Must be able to work in a project or team setting, able to remain calm in high-pressure situations.Organization skills and ability to prioritize work based on appropriate requirements.Knowledge of Oracle-based applications, as well as Microsoft applications.Good with data, spreadsheets, and data analysis.
Understands procurement process, including interactions with purchasing and logistics.Commercial and technical knowledge or background is a plus
