.**Job Description Summary**: Unison is the leading global supplier of complex gas turbine engine components and electrical & mechanical systems.Unison is a supplier to nearly every engine and airframe program, providing the most advanced performance solutions for a wide variety of markets including aviation, space and defense, power, oil and gas, and transportation.This role is for an experienced project engineer who will be responsible for leading Unison Ignition Exciter projects through design, validation, and release to production. The role is focused on team driven execution of design activities related to ignition NPI projects. Responsibilities include NPI project management, maintaining and tracking specification compliance, BOM items, and ensuring all Unison engineering NPI processes, policies, and procedures are adhered to:**Major Duties**:- Execute the design, analysis, and/or evaluation of assigned Engineering changes (ECs) coming from suppliers or manufacturing shops using engineering principles and adhering to Unison standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements. This work would include mechanical engineering for all Exciter products- Includes direct people management responsibility including staffing and performance development. Utilizes in-depth knowledge of ignition products, specifically exciters, analytical thinking and technical experience to execute strategy.- Circuit simulation use SPICE tools- Passive Components - Finding components and assessing important characteristics- Active Components - Identifying appropriate transistors, thyristors and similar parts and assessing important characteristics- Magnetics - Designing coils and transformers, including specifying cores, wire size, etc.- EMI - Basic understanding of noise sources and methods of designing filters- Thermal characteristics, based on published characteristics and power loss in component- Understanding of component tolerances and analysis using crystal ball or other tools to do monte carlo analyses to predict performance across variations- Being familiar with High Voltage, High Current, High Temperature challenges to designing circuits- High and Low Temperature effects on component characteristics- Provide technical Electrical engineering support- Monitor and communicate project status, business issues, and significant developments.- Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews- Lead the solution of complex technical problems- Utilize Lean tools to improve current Exciter products and processes. Document successful Lean projects**Required Qualifications**- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering- Solid contribution in a similar role or previous position- Effective written and oral communication skills in English and Spanish- English skills: Must be able to maintain a normal day-to-day fluid conversation in English on any topic with few mistakes (mistakes that do not affect clear understanding)
