What can you expect in a "Facilities Technician" role with TaskUs:
Imagine yourself going to work with one thing on your mind: ensuring the employees' environment feels safe and abundant to aid them in delivering the world's best customer experience. Facilities Technician Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):
- Performs work according to standard procedure and by the building's operational schedule.
- Makes minor carpentry, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing repairs.
- Sets up and tears down chairs, tables, and equipment for meetings or site functions.
- Prepares rooms for use by internal and external organizations.
- Conduct maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs.
- Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems (e.g. ventilation)
- Check functionality of safety systems (e.g. fire alarm)
- Collaborate with workers and other professionals during renovations
- Follows all applicable safety rules and security procedures.
- Assists in shipping and receiving of supplies and materials.
- Report any issues to the Facilities Manager and Site Facility Lead.
- Participates in general cleaning, painting, and repair work.
- Uses hand tools and power tools in making minor maintenance repairs and maintaining grounds and walks.
- Provides assistance to officials, staff, visitors, and other employees as necessary.
- Checks building at the beginning and end of shifts, ensuring things are clean/tidy and addressing any issues
- Work on inventories for office and cleaning supplies.
- Create monthly, daily, and annual reports on pending supply requisitions and costing.
- Monitor and maintain office housekeeping.
- Practice efficiency, especially in lodging and monitoring of purchase requisitions, handling purchase orders.
- Perform regular inspection of furniture and fixtures, bulbs and lightings, electrical outlets, and restroom fixtures to ascertain that these are in good working condition.
- Receive and account for the completeness of all incoming deliveries of office equipment, furniture and fixtures, and other fixed assets.
- Be a champion in maintaining a COVID-19 free workplace and ensure all new normal protocols are being followed
- Knowledge of the principles, techniques, equipment, and supplies used in the handyman industry.
- Inventory and stock management ensuring office is up to standards with daily walkthroughs.
- Have basic construction skills and expertise in home repair, maintenance, and renovations.
- Organizing and managing equipment required to complete daily tasks.
- Working with clients to provide exceptional customer service.
- Ability to learn and operate computer programs and systems.
- Able to do physical labor work including bending, lifting (50 lbs), and handling tools - Driver's license is required.
- You are able to stand and walk for extended periods of time with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Flexibility: you'll be switching gears, shifting priorities, and balancing task lists with calls for maintenance
Required Qualifications:
- 1+ year(s) previous experience in maintenance supervision or related field
- Positive attitude and a problem-solver
- Computer skills; may include scheduling with Google Suite or similar software
- Well-versed in technical/engineering operations and facilities management best practices
- Accurate and precise attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to physically climb ladders, stand, bend, squat, and lift up to 15 to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work occasionally in poor weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, or snow.
- Ability to work overnight/non-traditional hours, on an "as needed" basis.
- Be able to motivate and inspire a team of Housekeeping and Security staff, plus manage vendors because this position deals with them regularly.
- 1 years of labor or customer service experience.
- Previous handyman experience is preferred.
