Job Summary To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Failure Analysis Engineer located in Guadalajara, North Campus.
Reporting to the Director, Process Engineering, the Failure Analysis Engineer role is responsible for implementing and maintaining cost-effective troubleshooting methods for systems, software, and equipment, and for proposing and implementing solutions for critical issues to ensure customer satisfaction and maintain a healthy inventory of repair or manufacturing processes. Tasked with increasing technical knowledge and developing training plans for technical staff, ensuring flexibility across projects and technologies. Responsible for monitoring and improving technician efficiency and effectiveness indicators to ensure optimal performance.
What a typical day looks like: Directs and coordinates electronic engineering and/or technical personnel in design of methods of failure analysis, testing and test control apparatus and equipment, or software and systems testing. Directs and coordinates electronic engineering activities concerned with development, procurement, installation and calibration of instruments, equipment and control devices required to test, telemeter and record test data. Directs and coordinates the strategies to debug failed products of the test process. Defines conditions and procedures under which technicians are to conduct and indicators and phases of the debug process. Interfaces and confers with scientific, engineering and technical personnel to resolve testing and troubleshooting problems such as failures of product or system malfunctions, incomplete test data, Failure Analysis Reports, new solutions, obsolete components data interpretation or coding issues. Evaluates and interprets failure data and prepares technical reports for use by electronic or software engineering, and management personnel. Develops or uses computer software and hardware to conduct tests on electronic products and systems or software. Trains and instructs floor support, debug technicians and test operators on test hardware and/or software, failure solutions as well as proper problem-solving techniques. Resolves test yield problems by performing examination of root causes, developing and coordinating corrective action measures and monitoring improvements. Analyzes circuits and topologies to identify marginal issues or compatibility issues between components. Conducts yield trend and pareto analysis to identify epidemic failures that require deeper analysis. Develops and monitors the efficacy and efficiency metrics to improve the diagnostic process. Provides technical documentation and tools for diagnostic purposes. The experience we're looking to add to our team: Bachelor's Degree in Electronics, Mechatronics or related field. Experience in functional testing and failure analysis. Advanced English. Experience with servers and switches. Experience with line cards. Experience in temperature booth testing. Personnel management. Schedule availability. Advanced Excel skills. Develops and/or modifies test programs using various languages (i.e. Python, Lab View, Perl, etc.).
