Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Higg FEM Generalist Verifier to join our team in Latin America. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the environmental sector, with a deep understanding of the Higg Facility Environmental Module (FEM) and its application in the apparel and textile industry. As a Higg FEM Generalist Verifier, you will be responsible for conducting verifications of facility assessments, ensuring adherence to the Higg Index protocols, and providing valuable insights to improve environmental performance.
Tasks Key Responsibilities: Higg FEM Verification: Conduct comprehensive verifications of Higg FEM self-assessments for facilities in the Bangladesh market, ensuring accuracy and compliance with the Higg Index protocols. Data Analysis: Analyze environmental data submitted by facilities, identify discrepancies, and ensure that reported data accurately reflects the facility's environmental performance. Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with facility managers, sustainability teams, and other stakeholders to provide clear and actionable feedback on Higg FEM assessments. Training and Support: Provide guidance and support to facilities on the Higg FEM process, helping them to understand requirements and improve their environmental performance. Reporting: Prepare detailed verification reports, including findings, recommendations, and areas for improvement, and present these to both internal and external stakeholders. Compliance Monitoring: Monitor compliance with local environmental regulations and international standards, ensuring that facilities meet both legal and industry requirements.Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in the verification process and contribute to the development of best practices in Higg FEM verifications. Requirements Qualifications: Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, or a related field. A master's degree will be considered an advantage. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in the environmental sector, with a strong background in environmental audits, sustainability assessments, or related roles. Experience in the apparel and textile industry is highly desirable. Certification: Higg FEM Verifier certification or relevant experience in using the Higg Index tools is preferred. Technical Skills: Proficiency in environmental data analysis, familiarity with environmental management systems, and knowledge of sustainability reporting standards. Communication: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively to diverse audiences. Attention to Detail: Strong analytical and observational skills, with a keen eye for detail to ensure the accuracy and reliability of verifications. Language Proficiency: Proficiency in English and Spanish is required. Preferred Proficiencies: Experience with sustainability initiatives in manufacturing or industrial settings. Knowledge of relevant environmental regulations and standards. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Working Conditions: This position will require travel to various facilities for on-site inspections. Flexibility in working hours to accommodate different time zones and schedules.
