SummaryThe Field Application Engineer is a key member of the Electronics Solutions Americas Team.Based in the Guadalajara, Mexico area and focused on the Top Customers of the company, the FAE is responsible for supporting both pre-sales and post-sales activities on strategic accounts including process and application development, customer demonstrations, material evaluation, and on-site analysis of complex equipment and systems for all products and processes.The FAE is the applications engineering expert, designing, defining, implementing application requirements, analyzing and/or testing company products.The FAE is a solutions leader and application expert, working on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors, specifically with regards to application and process improvement.The FAE works closely in the Sales process conducting feasibility tests and working on process development projects to meet customer specifications/ requirements.The FAE will help drive sales process and technical alignment with internal stakeholders toward the objective of profitable growth for Nordson and the best experience for Customers.Essential Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesFocused on Top Strategic customers in Mexico to deliver a best-in-class pre-sale and post-sale application experience.Support improvement of equipment and applications development to meet customer process requirements.Frequently visit customer locations to analyze and investigate applications and process development.Report on customer needs and challenges both to the customer and internally for the purpose of application improvement, product alignment (current and future) as well as customer experience.Support equipment implementation and service with a focus on optimization of applications and equipment (hardware and software) to minimize down time, maximize utilization and meet customer process requirements.Coordinate specific strategic customer application and service requirements and implementations with global Nordson customer team as needed.Drive application success and technical solutions on existing and new applications, in lab and at customer locations.Coordinate activities and information with Sales as a participant in the Customer Team process.Key expert in application team to support customers in Automotive and PCBA industries with deep understanding of process knowledge.Lead critical escalation and be able to manage customer expectation and drive factory teams to deliver timely support.Define and drive customer requirements for existing or evaluation products based on technical intimacy with the customer.Adopt creative approach when facing challenge, bring enthusiasm to exploring the unknown in new technology.Serve as a trusted technical advisor and application expert to the customer.Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing technical issue or data from which answers can be readily obtained by applying engineering principles.Conducts technical reviews to understand and interpret customer RFI/Q expectations, participates with commercial team to execute responses to customer.Ensures configurations will successfully perform to customer's application for both new and existing applications.Self-directed, requiring minimal direct supervision.Participates in customers' various equipment improvements teams, ramp teams, equipment down escalation meetings, safety meetings, management reviews, and other focused meetings.Exercises
