**SUMMARY**A Field Service Engineer/Field Service Technician is a member of a Customer Support Department assigned to a Product Team or Process Team. A Product Team or Process Team is to provide detailed technical knowledge and customer support for the team's products or processes. It is the team's responsibility to satisfy the needs of customers utilizing the team's products or processes.**ESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES and AUTHORITIES** include the following. Others may be assigned.- Install, train and provide technical knowledge and troubleshooting on team product line at the customer's facility- Provide a communication link between customer and Makino- Create and develop procedural documentation- Use and understand the Customer Support computer system- Support the Product Specialist on a rotational basis when required- Support the Knowledge Products Team as a Subject Matter Expert- Meet all the paperwork required when perform any service work- Occasional participation outside of the team product line.**QUALIFICATIONS**- Excellent communication and customer relation skills- Present professional image- Technical knowledge and logical troubleshooting across team product line.- Rational decision making- Project leadership- Willing to travel weekly- Knowledge of a specialized field such as machine tool manufacture, installation, operation, maintenance and repair, and a broad shop background equivalent to a complete, accredited apprenticeship training.- 2 Year Technical degree (Mechatronics/Automation) and 1 year of experience in a related field servicing EDM machines preferable.- Able to travel both nationally and internationally.**PHYSICAL DEMANDS **The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
