Fielded Engine Performance Intern

**Job Description Summary**:
As a Fielded Engine Performance intern, you will be responsible for developing and sustaining a wide range of physics based computational models with customers across all GE Engine lines for fielded commercial engines. You will be part of a group of engineers with a variety of technical expertise in modeling. In this position you will be required to analyze and interpret large data sets to provide recommendations and update models to other teams such as Prognostics and Health Management both on wing and on ground, Engine Control Systems, Engine Performance or Engineering Services. You will participate in technical presentations and reviews with global teams.

**Roles and Responsibilities**
- Data quality assessment and statistical analysis
- Broadening knowledge of own technical discipline to execute policy/strategy
- Participate in root cause analysis on field events
- Present and substantiate results to senior leadership and direct manager
- Show proactivity and autonomy in learning new processes and programming technique

**Required qualifications**
- Students currently in an Engineering Masters degree (Computer Sciences, Electronic, Mechanical, Aeronautical, Mechatronics or equivalent) with at least one year to graduate
- Knowledgeable in object-oriented programming or experience with C, C++, R, python or similar computational languages
- Experience in data bases and queries in SQL
- Experience with thermodynamics and fluid dynamics
- Effective written and oral English communication skill

**Desired qualifications**
- Analytical approach for problem solving
- Leadership experience inside and/or outside the classroom. Extra initiatives/engagements in student organizations are a plus
- Knowledge on aircraft engines performance and operational parameters
