POSITION PROFILE The Financial Controller is primarily responsible for the financial reporting for the Legal Entities, for which they have responsibility, in accordance with local GAAP and IFRS. The role holder owns and manages the monthly, quarterly and year end accounting close process as well as external filing obligations for the legal entity ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and works with local management to ensure that business processes and controls are established and followed.
The jobholder works closely with the Global Shared Service Centre (GSSC) as well as the wider finance team to ensure accurate accounting.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for maintaining complete and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting for the legal entity's activity in accordance with IFRS.Responsible for providing technical accounting guidance to the GSSC as well as the wider business for the legal entity's transactions.Responsible for the Legal Entity control environmentThe role holder will ensure that monthly balance sheet reconciliations are accurately prepared and reviewed on a timely basis with adequate and constructive feedback.Review of sales contracts and terms and conditions to ensure that revenue recognition criteria are met and reviewing purchase contracts/discussion with FD's to ensure that liabilities are properly accounted for.Timely preparation of technical papers in respect of all significant one-off itemsEnsure that statutory financial statements, monthly VAT returns and all other statutory filings are completed in line with local deadlines.Deal with matters raised by the statutory bodies eg government bodies and tax authorities in a timely and professional manner.Participating or leading system, operational or process changes as required.Ownership as well as key point of contact for internal and external audits and driving simplification and continuous improvement of financial processes.Working closely with the businesses on initiatives and advising on accounting implications from a local GAAP and IFRS point of view. Support with adhoc requests and analysis as required. QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience and Certifications) Significant & demonstrable experience in a Controlling or financial reporting role, preferably in an international environment.Significant and demonstrable experience in preparing annual statutory financial statements as well as presenting the results to the local directors of the legal entity.Demonstrable experience and exposure to accounting standards IFRS or local GAAP equivalent.Significant and demonstrable experience in financial analytical reviews.Professional accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CPA or equivalent)A good working knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle or D365Advanced excel skillsEnglish language fluency verbal and written KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Must be results oriented, decisive, and proactive.Able to work to strict deadlines and prioritise effectively.Experienced & effective business partner with the wider business, challenging and driving accountability as required.Must be able to take responsibility in self-development in terms of skills as the needs of the business evolve.Requires strong oral, written and formal presentation skills including ability to communicate complex situations adequately and in a timely mannerSignificantly developed problem solving and analytical skills, combining good technical knowledge with good balance and judgement relating to accounting, financial and commercial issues.Must be able to work in and bring structure to ambiguous environments..
WORKING ENVIRONMENT Role is based in the Guadalajara office on a hybrid working arrangement.
