Role purposeEnsuring HSBC meets the requirements of the Sarbanes Oxley Act (SOX) 2002 by supporting the SOX compliance of the Group. In conjunction with Finance Control Team, Finance department personnel, and business process owners, ensure LAM has a SOX Section 404 compliant internal control environment. Working with business unit process owners, lead working group sessions to develop detailed scoping of business processes and identification of internal controls and risk assessment within each process. Setting policy as well as providing advice and challenge to 1LoD as a subject matter expert in Financial Reporting Risk.Main activitiesEnsuring on time delivery of all SOX milestonesParticipating in the implementation of a single control framework for Operational Risk / SOXMonitoring and ensuring Regional reportable deficiencies are remediated in a timely fashionConsolidating Regional deficiencies for reporting to Group Finance in line with the annual reporting timetable.Performing risk assessment of designated complex processes, project scoping, process and control documentation and identification of internal controls. Designing and managing the testing of key controls to SOX standards.Challenging the first line to ensure it is managing risk effectively and working with the 1st LoD to embed risk policies and providing advice and guidance to ensure HSBC reports an accurate risk profile.Ensuring the Risk Management Framework is embedded, including timely assessment and closure of gaps and continuing to enhance and embed Risk Management skills (e.G. business, regulatory & technical knowledge and soft skill capability) and behaviours for yourself and your span of risk stewardship.Effective involvement and oversight of change programs as Risk Steward.#J-18808-Ljbffr
