**
**Job summary**:
- The Accounting & Benfit HR Associate for Mexico will be responsible for payroll accounting, GL account reconciliations, accruals analysis.
The role will include collaborating with the affiliate operations finance team, the regional/corporate accounting team, as well as personnel from consulting firms providing outsourced payroll services.
- The Accounting & Benefit HR Associate will act as the point of contact for accounting and Benefit HR, performing monthly closing entries related to payroll, supporting outside statutory and tax service providers, preparing and supporting internal and external audits.
These responsibilities will be performed in close alignment with the Accounting & Tax Manager, Sr Associate HR systems, and Sr Associate Accounting and tax, And for the Elanco business.
**Accounting & Reconciliations**
- Review payroll entries to ensure that GL accounts and cost center are correct.
- Reconcile amounts between suspense accounts used to book payroll entries.
- Provide split of social security fees (SUA).
- Reconcile prepaid insurance and validate that amortization of the period is correct.
- Analyse accruals related to payroll (vacations, vacations premium, Christmas bonus, other bonuses, social security fees, state taxes, etc).
- Reconcile GL accounts related to payroll (vacations, vacations premium, Christmas bonus, other bonuses, social security fees, state taxes, etc).
- Based in analyses and reconciliation process, to propose adjustments and reclassifications to prevent impacts in the business plan.
- Provide information to determine the pension plan liability at end of year.
**Controls**
- Demonstrate a strong compliance-oriented mindset & help to build a strong compliance culture.
- Ensure ownership for all applicable financial reporting and operational controls as well as broader oversight for all controls that influence the payroll process.
- Engage with External/Internal Audit/Taxation authorities to ensure full ownership and excellence in all Group/Statutory/Internal/Taxation/Regulatory audits.
**Tax**
- Responsible to validate amount to paid for Federal taxes related to payroll.
- Reconcile Salaries and wages Withholding income tax.
(Accounting, CFDI and SAT).
**Treasury**
- Prepare cash flow forecasts for Federal and State taxes related to payroll.
**Calificaciones técnicas y de competencias requeridas (educación, experiência y/o entrenamiento, certificaciones)**:
- Bachelors Degree (or similar) in Finance or Accounting, or equivalent work experience
- Proven analytical, problem solving, and communication skills
- Proven compliance orientation based on prior operational business roles
- Ability to work in local/regional/global team environment and communicate effectively with both internal business partners of all levels & disciplines as well as external stakeholders such as auditors and tax authorities
- Fluency in English language
**Preferencias adicionales**:
- Knowledge of payroll process.
- Accounting and payroll experience in Multinational Companies
- Knowledge of US GAAP and/or IFRS
