Position Summary:
The Financial Analyst for tooling will be responsible for managing tooling revenues and expenses.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Track tooling revenues and expenses against line items on customer purchase order
- Ensure customer reimbursed tooling is billed on a timely basis
- Keep abreast of changes in customers tooling invoicing requirements and communicate those requirements to all internal parties as required
- Gain a full understanding of the invoicing process
- Obtain appropriate documentation to ensure tooling expenses are reimbursed
- Comply with and maintain Sarbanes-Oxley tooling narratives and company tooling policy
- Ensure that tooling projects are closed in a timely manner, ensure tooling projects are reconciled within the tooling register on a monthly basis
- Track and maintain tooling reserves to minimize potential exposure
- Submit monthly reports and analysis to NA Division
- Take an active role in the weekly tooling meetings with program/account management
- Look for process improvement ideas and work within team to implement those changes
- Work within Tooling group and internal departments to move tooling process to a project accounting environment with additional system tracking and automation, looking for someone willing to help move the current process forward from a timing and efficiency standpoint
- Proactively work with plant personnel, division, program/account management, engineering, GBS, logistics, and purchasing department to resolve billing and collection issues
- Investigate projects that exceed budgeted expenses to determine root cause
- Provide project data and documentation for customer tooling audits
- Responsible for month end closing of tooling accounts
- Take on additional financial projects and analysis as timing allows
- Work with plants to understand forecasted tooling spend and billing projections
- Assist plants with budgeting of tooling cash flows and provide analysis to team to assist with budgeting, additional reporting to be determined on a go forward basis.
- May, on occasion, be required to perform duties other than those specified in this description
Education and Qualifications:
- Four year business degree - Accounting/Finance preferred
- Two - five years accounting experience
- Automotive preferred but not necessary
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills to gather and interpret information
- Good communication skills and ability to handle multiple tasks/projects
- Ability to interact regularly with team members and cross functional groups.
Ability to give clear explanations both written and verbally
- Experience with Vanguard/AS400, BPCS, ST1, SAP, Wind Chill, and Hyperion preferred
- Process and team oriented
- Familiarity with Sarbanes-Oxley regulations
- Bi-Lingual (Spanish and English)
- Willingness and ability to travel, as necessary

- Must wear proper personal protection equipment while on manufacturing floor
- Travel to manufacturing facilities or customer locations when required
- Equipment used requires proper training on the potential for and avoidance of injury
