We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Financial Controller to join our finance team in Mexico. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of our financial operations while providing support for strategic decision-making across the organization, particularly within the SaaS or software sector.
Key Responsibilities: Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, with a focus on the unique reporting needs of SaaS companies.
Closing Processes: Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.
General Ledger Management: Manage general ledger activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and detailed account analysis.
Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with local tax regulations, including VAT, payroll taxes, and other applicable taxes; prepare tax returns and ensure timely filings.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes to support financial planning.
Audit Support: Provide support during audits by preparing necessary documentation and liaising with external auditors.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in accounting processes.
Team Development: Lead, mentor and train junior accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.
Cross-Department Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments to support financial decision-making and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
+ 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a senior role, with significant experience in financial reporting for SaaS companies.
Experience with US GAAP is an asset.
Strong knowledge of Mexican tax laws, including VAT, payroll taxes, and corporate tax regulations.
Proficiency in CONTPAQi accounting software.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Hands-on approach to financial processes and problem-solving.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Previous experience leading a Finance team.
Advanced English skills.
