Fixed Assets Accountant - Bilingual (Guadalajara Hybrid)

Meztal is seeking a Fixed Assets Accountant to oversee the management and reporting of the company's fixed assets. The ideal candidate has a strong accounting background, with knowledge of GAAP/IFRS standards, and experience managing physical inventories and asset capitalization.
Responsibilities: Maintain and update the fixed asset register, ensuring accurate tracking of acquisitions, disposals, and transfers. Reconcile the fixed asset sub-ledger with the general ledger on a monthly basis. Monitor asset depreciation following company policy and accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS). Conduct periodic physical inventories and reconcile discrepancies with records. Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate asset capitalization and disposal. Prepare detailed reports on fixed asset activities and provide analysis as needed. Ensure compliance with local tax regulations, including property tax filings. Assist in implementing and improving the company's fixed asset management system. Monitor internal controls related to asset management processes. Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulations affecting fixed assets. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 3+ years of experience in fixed asset accounting. Strong understanding of GAAP/IFRS standards and tax regulations. Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Oracle, SAP). Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office tools. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities. Preferred Skills: Experience with ERP systems, particularly in managing fixed asset modules. Knowledge of property tax compliance.
