HIP-LatinoAmerica A.C. is an affiliate of Hispanics in Philanthropy (HIP) a transnational network of grantmakers committed to strengthening Latino communities across the Americas. HIP-LatinoAmerica A.C. is based in Mexico City and works closely with HIP to connect and convene funders, nonprofits, researchers, and other leaders to identify emerging needs among Latinos as well as best practices for responsive and effective funding of social change. HIP pioneers new philanthropic models by leading collaborative initiatives and has provided grants and training to help build the capacity of more than 800 organizations and leaders. In 2014, HIP created HIPGive; the only bilingual crowdfunding platform serving Latino nonprofits in the U.S. and the Americas. Through HIPGive, organizations raise funds, gain unmatched visibility and get access to customized resources and tools for effective crowdfunding.Position Summary:The new Gender Equity Program Manager will drive and shape HIP's gender equity work. The current focus is in Mexico and largely around women's rights, violence against women and women's movement building. However, there is room to build this program in geographic scope across the Americas, as well as in terms of communities served i.e. men and boys and the LGBTQI community. This position will report to HIP-LatinoAmerica A.C.'s Vice President based in Mexico City and will manage HIP's current gender equity program including strategy design, impactful grantmaking, responsive grantee technical assistance and effective fundraising. This role will also be responsible for managing 1-2 staff program members.Core Responsibilities:Program Management and Implementation (65%)Develop and implement high impact grantmaking strategiesManage gender equity portfolio of grantees: conduct comprehensive due diligence of new grantees, supervise the administration and implementation of grants, monitor and evaluate grantee performance, recommend new, renewal, and final grants, prepare written summaries and evaluations of grant proposals Manage overall gender equity project financialsManage relationships with prospective and existing gender equity grantee and other relevant partners in the fieldDevelop and oversee implementation of comprehensive and responsive grantee support (capacity strengthening, context analysis, movement building)Support the design and implementation of monitoring and evaluation systems for programs in the interest of strategizing, measuring, and achieving meaningful impactIntegrate and support HIPGive crowdfunding initiatives within Gender Equity ProgramManage and strengthen all relationships with current Gender Equity Program donorsRecruit, manage and supervise consultants and relevant staffSupport driving overall gender equity program design and strategies based on past work, lessons learned and best practices from the field through a combination of research, site visits, engagement of local experts, advisors, organizations and pro-active coordination and collaboration with peer grantmakersFundraising, communications and partnership development (25%)Identify key ecosystems and opportunities to work with various actors to shape and influence agendas to promote women's rights and gender equity in the AmericasOversee management of key relationships with existing fundersWork with HIP's Fundraising Team, lead fundraising efforts to grow Gender Equity program, reach and impact throughout the Americas Represent HIP and its work with government, academic, business, philanthropic, and civic leaders through meetings, updates, speeches, briefings and interviewsAddress knowledge gaps around program thematic issues and coordinate research to build knowledge around women's rights and gender equity in Mexico and across the AmericasCoordinate communication among network members and partner organizations, organize convenings, webinars, and workshops, and support other efforts to engage partners and bring visibility to HIP's workPitch and draft external communications including blogs, talking points, and short articles to promote HIP's programmatic initiatives, events, and vision Organization-wide learning, cross-program partnership and administrative efficiency (10%)Develop and execute a clear and comprehensive annual work planWork closely with colleagues in the US and Mexico from other HIP (i.e Migration and Forced Displacement, HIP Lideres, Civic Participation, etc.) and HIPGive programs to develop and advance intersectional agendasShare lessons internally through field reports and other transfer of information for board and staffParticipate as a member of HIP's, program and development teams, utilizing a collaborative style to achieve programmatic and fundraising goals Participate in meetings or committees as neededProvide active, creative cross-functional thinking and ideasManage personal regular administration, including timely submission of receipts, reimbursement requests, scheduling, travel planning, filing HR paperwork etc.Required Qualifications & Skills:BA or equivalent work experienceBilingual in English and SpanishFive or more years of experience working on women's rights/violences against women in Mexico and the broader gender equity agendaFive or more years of experience in strategic grantmaking and/or nonprofit managementDemonstrated fundraising experience, particularly in the area of foundation and corporate partnershipsProject management experience, success managing multiple projects at the same timeStrong organizational skills, detail oriented, and the ability to consistently meet deadlinesSelf-motivated, with strong problem-solving abilities, "can do" style, with high professional and ethical standards and a willingness to pitch in as needed and where neededAbility to be focused and detailed, meet deadlines, juggle multiple tasks, and work as part of a team, while maintaining the big pictureThis position enjoys benefits that exceed Mexican labor law.
