General Accountant

RESPONSIBILITIES- Perform and collaborate in the accounting closing process carrying out specific tasks on a timely manner ensuring the financial integrity of the Financial Statements.- Prepare journal entries related to project accounting, revenue, costs of sales, work in progress, deferred revenue and unbilled revenue, and other.- Prepare monthly and quarterly accruals.- Ownership of the balance sheet control reconciliations including investigation of reconciling items to clear in a timely manner.
Work towards resolution of open items partnering with Business Units and other departments.- Researches and investigates accounting issues as required.- Provide various financial reports to finance management as requested.- Maintain compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and internal CP&P.- Support internal and external audit processes collaborating with other departments to meet deliverables and address explanations.- Identify potential areas for process improvements and work towards standardization and optimization of processes.QUALIFICATIONS- 1+ years of experience in accounting.- In-depth knowledge of US GAAP.- Strong organizational and project management skills.- Confidence in challenging the status quo; always on the lookout for continuous improvement opportunities.- The ability to go fast; the desire to help others go faster.- Outstanding presentation, reporting and communication skills.- Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) is a must.EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS- BS/BA in accounting required.Preferred Qualifications:- Experience with OraclePHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS- Please list all physical and environmental demands that may performed on a regular basis.TIME TRAVEL REQUIRED- (None, 10%, 25%, 50%, 75%)
