**Key Duties and Responsibilities**
**Core Work Activities**
- Manage and oversee the entire accounting function, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and financial reporting.
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures using the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including the balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement.
- Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual closing procedures.
- Manage internal controls and ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) regulations.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Manage payroll processing, ensuring accurate and timely payments to employees.
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to senior management to inform strategic decision-making.
- Manage budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Oversee cash flow management and ensure sufficient liquidity.
- Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities.
- Manage relationships with external auditors.
- Stay up-to-date on current accounting standards and regulations.
- Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals.
**Skills, Experience & Core Work Activities**
- _Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field._
- _Minimum of 2 years of experience in a senior accounting role._
- _Proven experience in financial reporting, internal controls, and SOX compliance._
- _Strong analytical and problem-solving skills._
- _Excellent communication and interpersonal skills._
- _Leadership experience_
- _Proficiency in financial accounting software (e.g., Iscala, Hyperion, NetSuite)._
- _Strong understanding of GAAP or IFRS._
