Mitie has over 77,000 people, 100+ office locations, and thousands of customers across the country, there's no limit to what you can achieve if you work for us.- Mitie are seeking an Electrical/Mechanical fitter/technician experienced in the maintenance and operation of airfield support equipment, plant and vehicles.- Job Overview- This role is for an experienced multi-skilled mechanical fitter who specialises in vehicles, plant and equipment electrical systems. Mitie are responsible for operating, maintaining and repairing boats, generators, aircraft support plant and equipment such as Passenger steps, MEWPS, air start trolleys and other associated equipment. All are managed under the General Engineering Section (GES) in accordance with current MoD rules, regulations, procedures and standards.**Main Duties**- Primary duties include installing and repairing electrical wiring, diagnosing problems with vehicle, plant and equipment electrical systems, repairing damaged electrical parts, and maintaining electrical equipment for MoD aircraft support services.- Mechanical vehicle, plant and equipment inspection, servicing, maintenance and repair i.E. generators.- Vehicle, plant and equipment fabric repair.- Diagnosing electrical issues and proposing a course of action.- Repairing and replacing faulty wiring or electrical systems.- Inspection and servicing of electrical automotive parts.- PAT Testing- Servicing and repairing electrical systems on generators and associated equipment's.- Undertaking all work in accordance with company and MoD QSHE practices and procedures.- Completing job reports and processing paperwork.- Workshop housekeeping, tool and equipment control, equipment management.- General GES support to aircraft operations including aircraft marshalling and towing. (Training will be provided).- Ensuring all work is completed to the correct standard and quality.- Updating and populating of electronic management/data systems i.E. JAMES.- Standing in the Section Supervisor during periods of absence.- What we are looking for- Have extensive knowledge of modern vehicular, plant and equipment electrical systems, have a good eye for detail, and be able to problem-solve complex electrical problems.- Proficient in welding an advantage but not a necessity.- An experienced Ex-RAF Trade Group 5 technician would be a distinct advantage.- Knowledge of the MoD JAMES Management system desirable but not essential.- High school diploma and auto electrical qualification certificate.- Proven work experience as an auto electrician.- Advanced knowledge of MoD vehicular, plant and equipment electrical systems (desirable).- Complex problem-solving skills.- Ability to operate electrical diagnostic equipment
