Belmond is on the lookout for a General Manager to lead one of our most luxury and iconic properties in Mexico, Maroma A Belmond Hotel.
This pivotal role requires a visionary leader dedicated to delivering exceptional guest experiences while driving operational effectiveness and financial performance.
The General Manager will foster a culture of excellence and inclusivity, collaborating with all departments to uphold the high standards synonymous with the Belmond brand.

As General Manager, you will act as the strategic business leader, responsible for the overall success and seamless operation of the hotel.
This role requires an unwavering commitment to excellence, leadership, and a passion for delivering an unforgettable guest experience.

Main Duties and responsibilities:

- **Operational Leadership**: Oversee all operational processes, ensuring the hotel consistently achieves and exceeds targets in guest satisfaction, quality assurance, and financial performance.
- **Strategic Vision**: Drive the implementation of Belmond's brand positioning and excellence initiatives, ensuring seamless alignment with the company's global standards.
Act as a champion of the 5-year strategic plan, collaborating closely with the property's executive committee.
- **Sustainability Leadership**: Integrate sustainable practices into all aspects of hotel operations, aligning with Belmond's commitment to environmental stewardship and the preservation of the Riviera Maya's natural beauty and cultural heritage.
Promote sustainable tourism that respects the local environment and community.
- **Business & Financial Acumen**:Drive profitability by creating and managing budgets, controlling costs, and identifying opportunities for revenue growth.
Leverage strong commercial acumen to maximize revenue potential, while utilizing analytical skills to evaluate financial performance, forecast trends, and implement innovative strategies that deliver results aligned with the hotel's strategic goals.
- **Talent Development**: Cultivate a strong organizational culture that attracts, retains, and develops top talent, positioning the organization as a talent magnet and fostering a winning culture.
Design and implement developmental programs to nurture the team and connect with the local community, ensuring an inclusive and diverse approach.
- **Guest Experience & Brand Elevation**: Foster a service-driven culture that exceeds guest expectations through a passion for excellence and an exceptional eye for detail.
Maintain a visible presence throughout the property, serving as an ambassador for both guests and employees.
- **Team Collaboration**: Work closely with the property Executive Team to set clear objectives, establish efficient ways of working, and inspire alignment with the hotel's vision.
Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders to maximize performance.
- **Marketing & PR Engagement**: Continue to grow the hotel's global reputation through effective communication and collaboration with industry partners, press and guests.
Proactively target and achieve strategic industry recognition and awards.
Liase and partner with the Belmond Brand, Marketing, and PR teams to connect with media, the travel industry, and clients, sharing the story and essence of Maroma.
- **Global Initiatives**: Ensure the successful implementation of divisional and global initiatives, tailoring them to the property's unique identity and goals.
**Requirements**:

- Minimum of 5 years' work experience in a General Manager position within the luxury hospitality industry, with proven expertise in managing ultra-luxury resorts, with preferred experience in Mexico or the Caribbean.
- A strong creative and commercial mindset with the proven ability to identify revenue-generating opportunities and implement innovative strategies that drive profitability and sustainable growth.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to inspire teams and connect with diverse stakeholders.
- A deep understanding of luxury service standards and guest expectations ensuring consistent delivery of world-class experiences.
- A passion for excellence, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to challenges.
- Experience managing a property of international acclaim, with a track record of playing a key role in earning such recognition.
