The HR Generalist is responsible for managing the day to day Human Resources activities related to employees, benefits, recruitment, and labor relations. Reporting to the Regional HR Manager, the HRG plays a critical role providing strong HR guidance to the HRA and local leadership team. The HRG will need to have strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills as well as an ability to influence, motivate, and communicate effectively with individuals at every level of the organization.
**Responsibilities**:
- Establish a trusted partnership with the businesses and integrate and align company initiatives
- Provide leadership to local HRA
- Drive consistency of HR practices
- Assist in policy and procedure development and implementation
- Administers various human resources plans and procedures
- Partner with Regional HR Manager and Business Leadership to analyze, negotiate and navigate with insurance brokers when renewing or sourcing benefit programs
- Maintaining employee data
- Generation of HR reports (i.e. attendance, headcount, etc.)
- Leads and conducts local recruiting efforts.
- Works with Payroll/Benefits Department to resolve any issues or investigation of compensation issues
- Maintains Human Resources Information System records and compiles reports from database
- Working knowledge of Mexico employment laws and outside regulations/ regulatory agencies and keep up to date on all legal changes
- Foster a culture that is inclusive and aligns employees with the company vision, values, and goals
- Manage specific projects as needed and participate in functional and cross functional initiatives.
**Requirements**:
- Degree required with major coursework in Business Administration, Human Resources management, or closely related field
- Minimum of 5 years of Human Resources Generalist experience required
- Proficient in Business English required (written and verbal)
- In-depth understanding of HR practices and fundamentals required
- Analytical, Detail oriented, Negotiating
- Ability to travel when required
- Prior management experience a plus
- Must possess an extensive knowledge of applicable Mexico employment and labor laws and governmental compliance requirements
- Experience working within a union environment and managing collective bargaining agreements preferred
- Must have demonstrated a strong employee and customer orientation with decision making and leadership skills
- Ability to monitor multiple projects simultaneously
- Prior multi-site/multi-state support experience is preferred
- Must have excellent interpersonal and communications skills including presentation skills; must be able to prepare comprehensive reports and represent ideas clearly and concisely; both orally and in writing to all levels of management
