**Description**

This position works with individual business units to create marketing strategies.
It determines how marketing plans should be executed to drive sales and shapes marketing plans to reach target markets.
This position researches and develops messaging and applies broad knowledge of company, affiliates, products, industries, and markets as they relate to the overall deparment focus.
Works on complex issues where analysis requires advanced analytical thought and judgment.
Develops functional plans, including business, operational, and financial priorities that contribute to business unit strategy.
Establishes and assures adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans and performance requirements.
Translates company and business unit objectives into functional plans and guides execution.
Directs the design of work for a functional area across the enterprise.
Directs the progress toward stated goals for manager teams and business professionals, with responsibility for multiple departments or business disciplines.
Participates in the interview and selection process, provides training and mentorship, offers career development guidance, and is engaged in performance management.
Provides timely and constructive coaching and feedback; develops staff and provides challenging opportunities.
Reports to a people leader at a higher career level.
**Accountabilities**
- Maintains direct communication with other departments to establish equipment economics and pricing parameters and strategies.
- Mentors new hires to support them in achieving revenue goals.
- Plans and oversees analysis of revenue and contribution, forecasts and develops market outlook for area of responsibility.
- Optimizes market share and total contribution.
- Maintains direct channel of communication with other KCS departments to ensure marketing and sales plans and goals are aligned with other departments.
- Handles all business development activities within business unit.
- Collects data and summarizes financial information for staff meetings, analysts questions, month end pre-close meetings and Pricing Review Boards.
- Forecasts and maintains the business unit expense budget.
- Oversees responses to daily quote requests and inquiries for rates.
- Determines requirements and other information needed to generate and publish a rate quote and creates appropriate support documentation.
- Supervises market specialists, market analysis.
- Serves as the on-site supervisor/lead available for day-to-day needs of employees who report to another Market Supervisor in another location/country.

**Required**
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college, preferably in a job related major field of study
- Minimum ten (10) years of relevant professional experience, including leading and managing complex projects or programs with outcome-focused deliverables, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum three (3) years of managerial experience

**Preferred**
- Advanced degree in a related field; 12 years of related work experience including 5 years in a management role.
**Working Conditions**
- This position has a regular full time schedule with a normal work week of Monday through Friday.
There may be a need for occasional work after hours or weekends.
- This position may require mínimal travel up to 10% of the time.
