The Accounts Receivable and Credit Manager should be analytical.The manager will be an accounting professional, who assists the accounting department with collection of funds for freight invoices.You will support the team lead and coordinators to recognize a low past due account status.As Credit Manager you will be responsible for adherence to company controls and review all new accounts to ensure they are a good fit for our company.You are required to review account information, correct discrepancies with customers, sales, pricing, billing, and operations to ensure payments are collected for all freight invoices.Additionally, you will contact customers with delinquent accounts and resolve payment delays.
A successful manager will maintain goals set forth by company leadership and provide support to team members.You will need to be meticulous, possess thorough research skills, organized, and self-motivated.
MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee the collection process to resolve account payment issues and make suggestions.
Develop strategies and goals to reduce past due accounts and uncollectible invoices.
Work closely with sales, publication, and other departments to provide support, resolve problems, and reconcile accounts.
Reconcile accounts by reaching out to key customer contacts with a goal of collecting funds while maintaining customer relations.
Write and maintain adequate notes on accounts with detail surroundingpayment delays and account issues.
Evaluate credit for new customer prospects and process credit adjustments up to $20k per account to ensure we adhere to all controls for our department.
Process bad debt write-off as well as approve refunds for payment errors.
Strive to improve our billing and collection process to decrease our Days Sales Outstanding.
Create goals and generate reports for internal review and to ensure we are successful in team goals.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Associates Degree or equivalent work experience of 3 to 5 years
Knowledge of general accounting principles with the ability to calculate figures and financial records using basic math skills
Expert user of Microsoft Office Products
Strong math, typing, and computer skills preferred.
Organization and time management skills required.
Expert user of Microsoft Office Products
Must be meticulous, able to multitask and prioritize.
Ability to work independently or as a team member
Ability to work with a diverse group of people
Maintain a high degree of accuracy, mindfulness, and confidentiality
