Position Purpose Supervise quality and compliance systems in Mexico to ensure customer satisfaction. Works collaboratively with regional offices worldwide to develop, update, and standardize processes, tools, and strategies.
Lead transitions with vendors D.I and near sourcing, ensuring best industrial practices, product compliance, and manage validation of fit, form, and function of the products to improve or maintain consistency of Duralast quality.
Lead PRDs (Product Requirements Document) and testing in agreement with merchandising team needs, works with vendors and merchandising team to develop packaging improvements.
Primary Accountabilities Work collaboratively with sourcing manager and Sr. Global Sourcing Manager to create D.I. and near sourcing plan (savings plan). Manage and monitor progress of the plan with CIMS to provide support on roadblocks and provide assistance for hard decision making to maintain quality and compliance integrity.Analyze and determine top offenders list (high damaged returns items) in agreement with merchandising leadership considering DM return tendency, social media, and commercial department complaints. Monitors progress and works in collaboration with vendors to identify root causes and negotiate improvements. Supports CIMS on resources needed and assist with hard decision making to ensure damage returns reduction.Analyze and determine packaging improvement plan in agreement with merchandising leadership and distribution center managers. Provide support to CIMS on negotiations with vendors and monitor progress of the plan. Research for packaging raw material, design of boxes to provide best solution to vendors and distribution centers.Manage creation of product requirements through the research, collection, and analysis of product information obtained from different sources.Support material for different areas to highlight characteristics and attributes and turn them into strong sales arguments.Education & Experience Level of Formal Education: A Bachelor's degree (BA, BS) or equivalent.
Area of Study: Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or Industrial), Quality, and/or Management.
Years of Experience: Three to five years.
Type of Experience: Work experience in corporate or manufacturing setting; retail experience, automotive a big plus; project management.
Special Certifications or Technical Skills: Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methods; quality management systems experience with ISO9001 or IATF16949; excellent Spanish and English verbal & written skills; proficient Microsoft Office.
Other/Preferred: Strong project/people management and organizational skills; ASQ certified (CQM or CQE), basic statistical analysis ability; light SAS SQL programming experience; ability to travel domestically and internationally; Portuguese and Mandarin language skills.
