**Commodity Purchasing Manager****Position objective**:In this position, you will be responsible for supplying the raw material to the company for the proper functioning of the production lines. It will also be in charge of the Buyers and will review their functions. You will negotiate with the supplier and it is a duty to know the material we work with. You will need to complete the reports and maximize the levels of relationship with the supplier by ensuring that an adequate and quality level of stock is always available.**Requirements**:- Bachelor´s degree in Chemical Engineering or similar- 5+ years' experience in similar position in maquiladora environment- High level Purchasing and Procurement experience- Bilingual English/Spanish- MS Office proficient- Strong communication and negotiation skills, both oral and written- Resourceful and takes initiative- Strategic thinker and able to overcome obstacles- Flexible with a sense of urgency- High attention to detail- Strong negotiation and analytical skills- High standard of Ethics- Excellent organizational skills- Strong interpersonal skills- Availability of travel- Schedule availability- Visa/passport**Main responsibilities**:- Understand the chemistry and physique about our product, its functions, quality requirements and hazards.- Research, select and purchase quality products and materials.- Build relationships with suppliers and negotiate with them for the best pricing.- Assess, evaluate and suggest reliable commodity suppliers- Process requisitions and update management on status of orders.- Update inventory and ensure that stock levels are kept at appropriate levels.- Arrange transport of goods and track orders to ensure timely delivery.- Coordinate with inventory team, management, and stockroom as required.- Assess quality of stock received and escalate any discrepancies to suppliers and management.- Perform regular quality assessments on all incoming materials from vendors.- Reject all products and materials that fail to meet quality expectations.- Understand the requirements of products and services.- Know about improvements to the production process to ensure quality control.- Analyze global demands for the assigned commodities.- Handle and manage records and presentations for Staff meetings.- Implement and Advise management on purchases.- Collaborate with clients and staff to preserve commodity quality.- Interface between suppliers and operational team on buying processes.- Evaluate and improve costing techniques.- Facilitate communication between supplier and the various buying departments.- Protect and improve supplier relations with FMAP.**Skills**:- Deadline oriented- Very Technical- Multitask- Teamwork- Multisite interactor**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent**Experience**:- PURCHASING MGR: 5 years (required)- COMMODITY: 5 years (required)**Language**:- ENGLISH 80% (required)
