Through our four business groups, Motorparts, Ride Performance, Clean Air, and Powertrain, Tenneco is driving advancements in global mobility by delivering technology solutions for diversified global markets, including light vehicle, commercial truck, off-highway, industrial, motorsport, and the aftermarket.At Tenneco, we are embarking on a new journey in Global Business Services, willing to expand our capabilities to work in a more efficient and effective manner.Now we are hiring a General Ledger (GL) Subject Matter Expert within the Record to Report team who will have responsibilities for month-end closing, reconciliation, reporting, SAP entries, and continuous improvement initiatives.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Complex Journal Entries: Prepare, calculate, and post complex journal entries accurately and in a timely manner.Financial Reporting: Load financial data into OneStream, ensuring accuracy and completeness.Balance Sheet Reconciliation: Prepare reconciliations or review and analyze balance sheet account reconciliations to ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.Intracompany reconciliation, analysis, and reporting of aged items.Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for enhancing current processes and implement improvements to optimize accounting operations and enhance financial controls.Transitions Subject Matter Expert: Attend to the transition of accounting activities, ensuring all processes are accurately documented and effectively transferred.
Check and review the standard operating procedures.Compliance and Reporting: Ensure all GL accounting practices comply with relevant regulations and internal controls.Support and assist both internal and external audits; perform SOX self-testing as per requirements.Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with various departments to resolve accounting issues, provide insights, and support financial decision-making.Follow up on projects/initiatives, identify risks and obstacles to meet deadlines, and propose corrective measures.Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.Support Global Finance Process Record to Report function when necessary.Participate in projects as per the Shared Services needs.REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
National or international accounting certification is preferred.At least 5 years of experience in GL accounting or relevant finance roles, with a strong background in accounting and reporting; US GAAP knowledge is a plus.In-depth understanding of accounting principles, regulations, and internal controls, with a strong commitment to maintaining ethical practices and confidentiality.Proficiency in using ERP systems (e.G
