Eaton's division is currently seeking a Global Commodity Manager. This is a remote position that supports commodity management for our Power Connections business within our Vehicle Group North America.
**What you'll do**:
As the Regional Commodity Manager for Metals, copper and aluminum, you will develop long term category strategic planning, create category metrics and ensure regional category strategies are aligned with Business and Corporate goals, deployed concurrently and meet the requirements of Supply Chain Management function and Vehicle Group North America operations. You must develop deep category knowledge and become a true expert, knowing the complex spend portfolio as well as the product end markets in order to provide category guidance for the businesses and the purchasing organization. You must build and maintain strong relations with stakeholders and be political savvy when deploying organizational resources and supporting functions in reaching their goals. You must collaborate with other functions (operations, quality, logistics, R&D) for new product line development as well as solving any existing supply continuity challenges and to prevent reoccurrence of such.
**Primary Function**
- Establish and lead the development of strategies to leverage Business spend.
- Ensure that key metrics for the procurement function such as Cost Out, Cost-Out idea generation, DPO, Resiliency and Diversity Spend is achieved according to business profit plans.
- Initiate, develop, and execute business strategic initiatives to facilitate cross-business synergies and increase leverage across a rationalized set of global preferred supplier partners.
- Present to senior management using advanced planning tools, methods, technical analysis, standards summarizing procurement opportunities.
- Lead the team in conducting Supplier Business Reviews with top strategic suppliers on a regular basis annually and execute the negotiation calendar to negotiate strategic spend annually.
- Drive Eaton's Go Green process to meet business goals and understand market gap available in category through Ariba RFQs, E-Auctions, Should Cost, Supplier Total Waste Elimination Events and market intelligence
- Work closely with global category suppliers and manufacturing facilities to ensure that plants are supplied at all times at the most competitive price.
- Establish and lead supply chain teams in developing Aftermarket and Outside Processing strategies to leverage Eaton's Vehicle Group world-wide buy, generate cost-outcome results, optimize supply base and improve quality and service performance.
- Review, approve, monitor and report compliance to commodity agreements and strategies based upon Eaton SCM strategic directions.
- Initiate innovative business solutions, forecasts, and commodity projections.
**Qualifications**:
**Required (Basic) Qualifications**:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, or engineering from an accredited institution
- Eight (8) or more years of combined experience within Supply Chain & Commodity Management at a global level within a manufacturing organization
- Three (3) or more years of experience building commodity strategies, master purchasing agreements, and conducting supplier negotiations.
- Ability to travel up to 20% as needed.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
**Preferred Qualifications**:
- In depth market knowledge for copper and aluminum
- MBA or master's degree from an accredited institution
- Previous experience in automotive or EV market
**Skills**:
- Clear understanding of cost drivers and industry best purchasing practices.
- Acknowledged expert in identifying and understanding current trends in supply chain management specifically in copper.
- Exhibits excellent communication, customer service and interpersonal skills necessary to converse with diverse group of stakeholders including senior management (internal and at the suppliers), operations and supply chain management personnel.
- Global business experience is required with experience in negotiating with global suppliers.
- Demonstrated ability in strategic process creation and implementation, knowledge and experience in successfully deploying category strategies and driving cost-out.
- Demonstrated ability to create price gaps and drive results via fact-based negotiations.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities with challenging time constraints.
- Must be a creative thinker who can deal with ambiguity to create a vision of how to drive the organization to achieve desired results.
