We foster an inclusive culture and are looking for diverse, talented people to join Alcon.As a Global Data Lead - Supply supporting the Supply Chain Planning team, you will be conducting Master Data Management (MDM) operations per established global strategy across the Alcon division for assigned Franchise. MDM operations will consist of maintaining Finished Goods and Non-Finished Goods Material Master within both SAP system and applicable legacy ERP environments, inclusive of applicable Manufacturing Master Data being activated as part of IRIS Manufacturing deployments.Lead Master Data Management operations and project delivery of ERP Material data to ensure high degree of data accuracy, consistency and completeness.The primary focus is to facilitate the Material Master set-up and changes in accordance with department standards and business rules during project integration activities, global and regional product launches, and all subsequent phases of the product life cycle.Successfully resolve operational issues related to master data, such as out-of-sync conditions across systems, or resolve other applicable operational disruptions by performing proper root cause analysis and executing data and process remediations. Leverage advance automation and data quality tools to expand data governance across critical Master Data objects.Provide SAP Material Master business process expertise to associates, business process owners within local Manufacturing sites and Supply Chain Hub. The Global Data Lead serves as primary point of contact for functional teams to help develop new Global Data Management business process and data standards required to achieve business objectives.In this role, a typical day will include:Process Improvements:Execute setup and maintenance of new material master setup and change requests in Alcon ERP systems to support manufacturing and supply chain product launch activities. Requires heavy interaction and coordination across manufacturing and supply chain stakeholders.Perform daily Material Master Maintenance operations consisting of both global and local manufacturing and supply chain extensions, including process improvements, business rules development, managing ticketing systems and generation of metrics. Ensure that the Alcon business rules defined in the GDM Data Dictionary are applied.Leverage technology to promote Active and Passive Governance using industry best practices by generating applicable metrics to demonstrate improvement of data quality KPIs.Work closely with other business teams like Supply Chain Planning, Finance, Quality, Regulatory Affairs and Manufacturing to address and resolve master data issues in a timely manner.Lead process reengineering and simplification efforts to mitigate points of failure, and implement new business processes by documenting revisions to existing or development of new SOPs.Train GDM associates, stakeholders, local data stewards as required.Analyze large amounts of data to support ERP data validation/cleansing activities, operational and project-oriented, and contribute to governance process enhancement.Maintain compliance with internal, and external controls standards and SOPs (i.e. Alcon Finance Controls Management, Alcon Profit Margin Reporting standards, and Alcon's Global Master Data SOP).Lead regular Global Data Management (GDM) and Local Data Steward meetings to communicate new processes and standards to applicable local data stewards.WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:Education: Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain, or Science/Engineering. Master's Degree preferred.5-7 years in Master Data Management; SAP Master Data Management experience.Good working skills with MS Office suite; Advanced experience in MS Excel, MS Access and MS Visio preferred.Extensive experience developing solutions to complex problems which may require some ingenuity and innovation.
