Role Purpose
The main objective of the position is to prepare the accounting closing process of Grupo Financiero HSBC entities on a monthly basis to allow the generation of financial information for local Regulators and Group. It is preferred to have technical knowledge of local and international accounting, with strong process improvement experience to help enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness. Good analytical capacity and preferable knowledge of the accounting process of a bank are required. Good communication skills (including English) are necessary to work with many teams (including teams in our GSCs in Mexico and India).
Main Activities Provides support and oversight over the assessment, design, implementation, and monitoring of the Account certification process and remediation of initial findings to set up a long-term process to consistently reconcile and/or substantiate HBMI accounts in accordance with HSBC's policy requirements (Finance Functional Instruction Manual). Ensures exceptions are identified, escalated, and reported to the HBMI Finance function through the monthly certification process, protecting HBMX assets. Provides timely and accurate information to HBMI senior management. Avoid losses due to regulatory fines and incorrect account registers ensuring the reasonability of the information in the Financial Statements. Guarantee all related parties must comply with BSRS Governance established. Identify and escalate deviations in a timely manner. Requirements Knowledge of accounting standards applicable in Group and Mexico. 3 years of experience in process improvement, operations management, or a related area. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Working experience (3-5 years). Lead with impact. Local and international accounting knowledge. Negotiation skills. Problem-solving abilities. Open-minded and adaptable to change. Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) proficiency. Internal policy-making experience. Proficiency in English. Proactive and self-driven.
