.Government Affairs CoordinatorThe Coordinator will support monitoring and reporting of relevant legislative, policy and regulatory activity in Mexico, as well key initiatives, and events in concert with AZ focus on transforming the healthcare ecosystem.
This by contributing to the positioning of the company as a partner of choice for health (Above-Therapeutic Area vision), innovation and corporate initiatives.Contribute to the Corporate Affairs team´s efforts in shaping and implementing the overall corporate and government affairs strategy, including administrative tasks and back office work.
This includes identifying opportunities and reacting to changes in the corporate and policy environment, aligned with the guidelines and ethics principles of AZ.Typical Accountabilities- Support the Corporate Affairs strategy, as needed, to develop and maintain strategic relationships with all sectors of the health and economic ecosystem (decision and policy makers, advocacy groups, think tanks, business associations, and more).- Support Corporate Affairs events, projects and initiatives, following AZ´s internal processes, guidelines and ethics principles.- Assist the Government Affairs team in preparing executive-level communications and briefing materials regarding government affairs developments, including regulatory and legislative matters of interest.- Maintain clear engagement and alignment internally and externally on GA and policy matters, supporting the development of papers, documentation, toolkits, supporting materials and guidance for implementation with CFT and public affairs agencies.- Monitor and carry out research on the political, legislative, and regulatory environment in Mexico; providing intelligence and insights, and identifying emerging issues and challenges that may impact AZ´s position.- Develop and maintain an understanding of the policy and regulatory landscape linked to AZ´s Therapeutic Areas, as well as Above-Therapeutic Areas priorities (e.G., healthcare transformation, innovation, business development, etc).- Manage data information systems to keep track of external relations with various political, healthcare, international and innovation stakeholdersEducation, Qualifications, Skills and ExperienceEssential- Bachelor's degree in a field related to Government Affairs (Political Science, law, International Relations, Economics, communications)- Understanding of public policy issues impacting the pharmaceutical industry and AZ in Mexico- At least 2-3 years of experience with civil organisations environment, Corporate, public affairs, government relations and external corporatecommunications, in a pharmaceutical industry is a plus.- Relevant experience and interest in public affairs, policy shaping, legislative and regulatory environment Government and engagement with public officials and key social and private organisations.- Entry level understanding of media and social networks
