The position requires strong analytical capabilities and demonstrated experience successfully dealing with regulatory issues, excellent levels of communication and presentation skills to interact with national and sub-national government officials, and developed skills coordinating multi-disciplinary groups to lead projects. It is highly preferred that the executive has experience working on Mexican financial sector issues, particularly in the payments or the banking arena, from either the private or the public sector. The main objectives of the position are to develop and implement a proactive agenda to ensure the country´s public policy priorities are aligned with industry and corporate objectives to grow financial inclusion and digital payments adoption, as well as to increase national and sub-national government's participation in the digital payments space.Essential Functions:Develop and implement the government engagement strategy for Mexico in close coordination with the Head of Government Engagement for Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean, and other Visa local and regional functional leaders to achieve agreed objectives.Think strategically and provide sound advice and support on matters of legislative, policy, and regulatory interest to internal and external clients, in close coordination with other incumbent teams.Monitor, analyze and coordinate efforts to mitigate potential regulation that might negatively affect the digital payments industry and Visa business.Lead and coordinate Visa's positions and advocacy strategies on regulatory and policy issues in Mexico.Record and share best practices with government bodies, regulators, and industry stakeholders to promote digital payments.Support Visa's regulatory information needs as a regulated entity and coordinate responses to regulatory consultations.Build proactive, trusted relationships with key government officials, regulators, and lawmakers.Collaborate with local GE professionals and industry associations to develop strategies and engagement plans to boost financial inclusion and digital payments
