We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Finance Director to oversee our accounting and financial operations in Mexico.
The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with both local and US-GAAP accounting standards, manage statutory filings, and support audits and taxation matters. Additionally, the role involves leading a team of accountants and collaborating with various financial teams to enhance our business processes.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain and enhance the accounting framework under Local- and US-GAAP
Ensure timely and accurate statutory filings and compliance with local legislative and electronic accounting rules
Monitor and implement local legislative and tax changes, informing relevant teams
Maintain a robust internal control environment in line with SOX requirements
Coordinate and support statutory and corporate audits
Ensure compliance with local tax laws, manage tax filings, and respond to tax authority inquiries
Oversee transfer pricing regulations and intercompany transactions
Collaborate with FP&A teams to support budgeting, financial reviews, and corrective actions
Provide ad-hoc financial support to budget holders
Lead a team of 4 accountants in Mexico
Support treasury, AP, and procurement teams in managing local banking relationships and vendor inquiries
REQUIREMENTS
Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or equivalent
Holder of a local equivalent of a valid CPA qualification
Minimum 10 years working experience in the field of accounting either at a multinational company or in Audit services (Big4)
Minimum 5 years working experience as Chief accountant or Controller at a multinational company in Mexico
Excellent knowledge of statutory and IFRS/US-GAAP accounting standards including related analysis and reporting
Solid knowledge of Tax and local regulations including Transfer Pricing frameworks
High integrity standards and reliability
Solid understanding of partnering within Finance and other local/global colleagues
Strong analytical and IT skills (preferable SAP, ERP, MS-Office)
Ambitious, polished, highly articulate and strong interpersonal skills
Excellent communication skills in English and Spanish (both written and oral)
