Job DescriptionSpecific Responsibilities:- Provide leadership, training, and mentoring to validation technicians.- Ensure proper resource coordination to effectively address required validation testing activities.- Responsible of ongoing operations of the climatic, mechanical, electrical, and acoustical test laboratories including procurement of new equipment and supplies, equipment maintenance and calibration, and equipment scheduling.- Support the development of local test capabilities to meet automotive validation requirements.- Working with Validation Engineers, develop and implement applicable test procedures related to climatic, mechanical, electrical hardware validation of audio amplifiers, speakers and bass-boxes.- Initiate and implement improvement projects to minimize down time and add capabilities, improve quality, or reduce costs of testing and related departmental processes.- Provide expert technical support to engineers and other end users in areas such as Design, Process and Quality.- Support hardware and software updates to test support equipment.- Manage and control equipment and samples warehouse.- Travel up to 10% in support of training and projects.
**Skills**:- Experience - 2+ years of electrical, mechanical, climatic and reliability testing experience.- Familiarity with automated testing equipment, LabView/Test Stand experience preferred.- Strong ability to plan, prioritize, and communicate status of work activities.- Experience in hiring, managing, and leading the daily activity of direct support personnel.- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.- Strong orientation in Lean/5S practices.- Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) and excellent interpersonal skills are required.- Must have a flexible style that accommodates working on multiple projects in collaboration with members of various organizations and project teams.- Must be a self-starter who performs well under limited guidance; is detail-oriented, andhas a strong commitment to project deadlines.- Familiarity with test procedures of International and OEM Automotive standards preferred.- Audio experience preferred.- Must be fluent in English.
