We are looking for a Head of Business Integration for our container terminal expansion project. The candidate will be an experienced business leader with a comprehensive understanding of container terminal operations, coupled with experience in designing, constructing, commissioning, and expanding them. Their primary responsibility will be to serve as a key liaison between the new expansion project and the operational container terminal business, ensuring seamless integration and stakeholder engagement. ROLE PURPOSE: We are looking for a Head of Business Integration for our container terminal expansion project. The candidate will be an experienced business leader with a comprehensive understanding of container terminal operations, coupled with experience in designing, constructing, commissioning, and expanding them. Their primary responsibility will be to serve as a key liaison between the new expansion project and the operational container terminal business, ensuring seamless integration and stakeholder engagement. To excel in this vital, leadership role, our Head of Business Integration will deliver on four key areas: Facilitating Stakeholder Engagement : You will play a critical role in engaging stakeholders, primarily between operations, project teams, and global functions. Your adeptness in managing external stakeholder relationships will also be essential to foster effective collaboration. Ensuring Smooth Integration : Your expertise in container terminal operations and project management will enable you to support the operational business in being ready to receive the expansion. This includes integrating systems and assets seamlessly into their operations and assisting in hiring additional operational staff in a timely manner. Navigating High-Level Automation : As the container terminal includes a high level of automation, your understanding of how such operations function and the involved systems will be vital in bridging any gaps in understanding between the expansion project and operational business. Navigating Dynamic Environmental Context : Throughout the project lifecycle, the environmental context (political, economic, social, technological, legal, environmental) may change. Your astute ability to adapt and ensure the project leadership is informed of the significant to continues to deliver value to the existing business despite these changes will be paramount. As the Head of Business Integration, your leadership and expertise will be instrumental in successfully integrating the expansion project into the existing operational container terminal business. Your ability to navigate complex stakeholder dynamics, understand automation systems, and ensure a smooth transition will significantly contribute to the project's overall success. ACCOUNTABILITIES These are the areas of the project where the Head of Business Integration will have ownership, including of the consequences, no matter how, where or who undertakes the work or tasks. Author and own the handover, "Go-Live" and integration plans (as part of the Project Execution Plan) Author and own the internal stakeholder engagement and communication plan for the Project Verify and support all data input from operations to Project (including requirements, lessons learnt, technical specifications and combined management plans) Project representative for all existing queries between the existing business and Project team including queries, schedule milestones, technical specifications, requirements and coordination REPORTING: Direct reporting: Project Manager Functional reporting: Chief Operating Officer, Existing Container Terminal Business Geographical scope: Latin America RESPONSIBILITIES: These are the tasks that are expected to be undertaken by the Head of Business Integration on the project. General: Acts as primary point of contact and be responsible for terminal's operational integration Ensures support for the full recruitment of the standing organisation for the future business in close co-ordination with terminal functions (HR, who are accountable for the recruitment) Maintain full awareness of project requirements, risks, changes, budget and schedule, report progress and liaise as necessary with internal stakeholders. Ensures that commissioning, safety and compliance are addressed early in the project and managed in accordance with the shareholders' standards Support acquisition of permitting and other regulatory obligations required for the project. Safety: Integrates safety into the design of the operational processes. Actively promotes safety and assume a visible leadership role on the site. Project controls & governance Together with the Project Controls team, implements the project controls and procedures to support management of the project in a forward-looking manner Tracks project progress against the approved baseline and, where appropriate, ensures issues are pro-actively addressed, resolved and/or escalated and reported Maintains a forward-looking risk-register and subsequent mitigation strategies Communications Ensures clear communication within and from the business integration team Ensures consistent and timely project reporting Meets regularly with relevant stakeholders and maintains full awareness of issues which may impact project or operational requirements, safety, progress, milestones and/or budget Builds relations at senior management level with stakeholders to influence a positive outcome of delivering an operational terminal APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS Experience Practical knowledge, skill, or practice derived from direct observation of or participation in events or in a particular activity Minimum 10 years of experience in container terminal operations, with experience of working on at least 2 operational infrastructure projects – preferably in project with multidimensional stakeholder management Over 5 years of business or operational leadership experience. Experience of working cross function with numerous internal stakeholders and delivering business value by influencing stakeholders and partners. Competencies Ability to do something successfully or efficiently Project planning (scheduling, milestone and stage-gate planning, budgeting) Clear and concise written and verbal communication in English & Spanish.
