The role of the head of office will be to develop our 3 missions (advocacy, knowledge and networking) through interrelated activities, membership and promoting UITP in the region. The person will report to the Director of UITP LATAM and Advocacy and will work in collaboration with all UITP Departments and Regional Offices, in particular the UITP Office in Sao Paulo.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
**1/ Membership Coordination and Networking**:will play a central role in coordinating membership and networking activities across LATAM from the UITP office located in Mexico, with special focus on Mexico and Central America. This includes retaining and developing membership opportunities for cities and countries institutions, public transport authorities and mobility agencies, operators, industry suppliers, and professionals within the urban mobility sector.
They will work on maintaining robust relationships with policy-makers, association members & partners, potential members and represent UITP at various events and meetings. Maintain an up-to-date database of key members/potential members/partners and contacts, keep the prospective sector trends and members' pipeline updated.
**2/Research and Analysis**:build knowledge on the status and on-going developments in the public transport and mobility sector in Latin America, with special focus on Mexico and Central America. Prepare project/city/country reports.
**3/Advocacy and Knowledge Development**:assist in creating policy briefs, knowledge and training materials, and research papers for members and other professionals in the public transport sector, collaborating with experts globally.
**4/Event Program Management**:will be responsible for enhancing and delivering UITP event programs. They will collaborate closely with colleagues in LATAM and across different regions to organize committee meetings, local events, training programs, technical visits, etc. This includes the preparation of project plans for various initiatives.
**5/Technical Visit**: Assists in organizing **study tours and technical visits** for members within Central America and outside.
**6/Marketing Initiatives**:will lead marketing efforts to promote local initiatives, such as studies, conferences, events and training programs, while also providing marketing support for regional and global activities, notably the UITP LATAM Conference and Assembly, and the UITP Summit, respectively.
**7/Communication**:will be responsible for generating regular communications for members, including electronic newsletters, letters, brochures, and utilizing social media platforms. Regularly communicate about upcoming UITP activities, both locally and globally.
**Job requirements**
- Master degree; preferably in transport, urban planning, management or economics.
- Detailed knowledge of the public transport/urban mobility sector in the assigned countries. More than 5 years of experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication in Spanish and English. Portuguese is an added value.
- Experience in Associations is asset.

**Travel requirement**: the position will require to travel across Latin America, mainly in Mexico and Central America (30-35% of time).
