As the Head Risk Management Latin America Reinsurance you will be responsible for providing independent assurance that the Latin America MU's risks are being reliably governed, identified, underwritten, managed and controlled. You will be a member of and trusted partner to the Latin America Reinsurance Management Team, led by the President of Reinsurance Latin America, with a continuous and comprehensive view of the various qualitative and quantitative risks of the MU and contribute to management dialogue and decision making that impact strategic positioning and portfolio steering.
You will report to the Chief Risk Officer Swiss Reinsurance America Corporation & Head MU RM Americas (CRO SRAC & Head MU RM Americas) and form part of the global P&C Re Risk Management Extended Leadership Team. The Latin America MU RM team forms a critical part of the Americas and global P&C RM teams, which also include other regional teams covering MUs and legal entities and the P&C insurance RM team comprised of reinsurance risk experts. This role is responsible for the Latin America MU's L&H business, providing a unique opportunity to work on both P&C and L&H business and collaborate closely with the L&H RM team.
Responsibilities Identify, analyze, and monitor risks affecting Reinsurance businesses and operations in Latin America, including regulatory risk.Represent Risk Management on management teams (including among others the Latin America Reinsurance Management Team), regional business and functional teams and committees, and provide full transparency of risks through routine discussions and risk reporting.Act as Risk Partner to the President of Reinsurance Latin America and Underwriting Officer Latin America & Caribbean, including Key Risk Taker and Control Related Behavior assessments.Form part of the global P&C Re Risk Management Extended Leadership Team.Guide the development of region-specific risk standards, as necessary, in line with those of the Group, and oversee the region's compliance with these and other relevant Group-wide policies and guidelines.Implement appropriate control frameworks to help ensure that relevant business actions are in accordance with Swiss Re policies and guidelines and appropriately mitigate risks.Support the engagement of the CRO SRAC & Head MU RM Americas and play an active role in the continuous improvement of Risk Management. The person may also be the Risk Partner for Swiss Re's North America P&C Facultative Market Unit.Manage a small team of risk officer(s).In completing these tasks, the Head Risk Management Latin America Reinsurance will collaborate closely with other teams in Risk Management, including the Head Risk Management Brazil (CorSo & Re) who takes the lead in Brazil and is responsible for Brazil reinsurance legal entity and operational risk management, Regulatory Risk Management in Washington DC and Zurich, insurance risk experts in both P&C and L&H Reinsurance Risk Management, Sustainability Risk Management as well as regional actuarial teams. The Head Risk Management Latin America Reinsurance will also coordinate with Control Function counterparts (i.e., Compliance and Group Internal Audit) to ensure effective and coordinated risk dialogue.

Portuguese is a plus.Skilled at influencing and negotiation.
