Health and Safety Engineer is responsible for meeting the H&S KPIs in their responsibility area, collaborating with customers to provide continuous improvement to the H&S System through the development of specific activities of the WHS department. Responsibilities include:
Application of legal and corporate requirements on health and safety.
Training workers on regulatory and corporate issues.
Execution of regulatory and corporate legal audits (E2HS, STPS, ISO45001).
Review and authorization of daily activities on the plant floor using risk assessment tools for routine and non-routine tasks.
Willingness to provide support in 3 shifts according to plant needs.
Implementation of visual safety standards.
Participation and monitoring of tasks generated in plant meetings.
Detection of unsafe acts and conditions.
Performing incident investigations.
Monitoring and providing effective feedback on audits created by employees and well-being activities.
Safety buy-off for machinery and equipment.
Functionality testing of safety devices in both automated and non-automated processes.
Management of contractors and suppliers.
Identification and execution of savings projects.
Safety facilitator for internal clients.
Design and execution of strategies to reduce incidents and associated costs.
Use and selection of PPE.
Promotion of participation in safety matters at all levels of the company organization.
Participation in Local Joint H&S Committee.
Industrial hygiene monitoring and management inside the plant.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Safety, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering.
At least 3 years of experience managing H&S at manufacturing facilities.
Able to communicate in English, both written and spoken.
High sense of responsibility.
Knowledgeable in STPS, OSHA, ISO:45K, and 14K Standards.
Desirable experience starting manufacturing projects.
Ability to work with databases and MS Office.
