Job Description:Job Summary:This position promotes a safe work environment within the region/business unit. He/She ensures regulatory and UPS policy compliance, appropriate investigation procedures are followed, formulates region/business unit strategies, tactics, and improvement initiatives to prevent injuries and auto crashes, reduce workers' compensation and liability costs, and lessen risk. He/She manages strategic external relationships with professional, regulatory, and community organizations to provide a safe work environment and to strengthen UPS's standing in the communities served.Responsibilities:Health & Safety Manager is responsible for promoting a safe work environment within the country for all business units.Promotes Safety Culture.Creates strategies and improvement initiatives to prevent injuries and auto crashes.Ensures regulatory and UPS policy compliance, appropriate investigation procedures are followed, formulates country/business unit strategies, tactics, and improvement initiatives to prevent injuries and auto crashes, reduce workers' compensation and liability costs, and lessen risk.Promotes safety recognition programs to foster a safe work environment.Supports Occupational Health with the implementation of wellness strategies to promote healthy lifestyles, enhance operational effectiveness, and reduce cost.Develops health and safety strategies to set direction and communicate trends to the district staff.Manages strategic external relationships with professional, regulatory, and community organizations to provide a safe work environment and to strengthen UPS's standing in the communities that are served.Manages and Develops Others.Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree or International equivalentFlexible travel scheduleHealth and Safety experience & KnowledgeEnglish Level: Medium-HighAnalytical and Critical ThinkingTraining SkillsLeadership skillsGood motivator and communicatorEmployee Type: PermanentUPS is committed to providing a workplace free of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation.#J-18808-Ljbffr
