About the Role: Morrison Express is looking for a highly experienced Legal Director (General Counsel) to lead our legal department at the Taipei headquarters. In this critical role, you will be responsible for managing all legal aspects of our global operations, ensuring compliance, minimizing risks, and resolving complex legal disputes. You will work closely with the CEO, senior executives, and various departments to ensure our legal strategies align with our business objectives. This role is pivotal in shaping the company's legal landscape as we continue to expand internationally.
Key Responsibilities: Legal Strategy & Advice: Provide comprehensive legal guidance to the CEO and leadership on matters across regions, ensuring alignment with current laws and regulations. Anticipate legal issues, assess risks, and deliver practical recommendations to support business decisions.Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate contracts including commercial agreements, partnerships, and vendor contracts. Develop and enforce contract management policies to mitigate risks.Dispute Resolution & Litigation: Manage disputes and litigation, working with external counsel as needed. Resolve insurance claim matters and protect the company's interests in legal proceedings.Compliance & Corporate Governance: Establish and monitor adherence to Morrison's Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Policy. Lead compliance training and ensure adherence to all policies and procedures.Employment Law & Labor Relations: Advise on employment-related legal matters including hiring, terminations, and workplace policies. Provide counsel on labor relations to ensure compliance with laws and best practices.Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the legal team, fostering a high-performance culture. Collaborate with external legal partners and regulators to ensure cost-effective solutions and favorable legal outcomes.Qualifications: JD or LLM degree, with bar admission in either Taiwan or Mainland China and the US.10+ years of legal experience, ideally within multinational companies, with broad expertise in corporate law, contract management, labor law, and compliance.Proven experience in managing a wide array of legal issues, with a strong focus on commercial matters, litigation, and claims management.Fluency in both English and Chinese is essential, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Strong leadership and team management experience, with a proven track record of developing and motivating teams.High degree of professional ethics, integrity, and sound judgment, with the ability to think strategically and anticipate potential legal risks.Why Join Us?
